Looking to see if anyone has purchased a reman Deutz for their Gleaner combine? Our V8 Deutz was in a fire before we purchased the combine and repaired it. Most of the damage was to the fan side of the engine, hydraulic pump and wiring harness.
It works fine and is very fuel efficient but we are chasing one engine oil leak that we can't seem to stop. It appears the turbo line on the front left side weeps. Changed seals, put additional gasket material in there and it still weeps. Over a day we loose about a litre of oil, maybe 2.
Our question is what was the cost for the V8 reman and how long did it take to get it? We've rebuilt the rest of the combine as we bought it for scrap value and have a machine with large capacity for a very good price. Would like to keep the unit going but want to make sure we are able to source a reman engine if required.
Thank you,
Joe
