I have a NH TR88. There is a ding sound (metal on metal) every 3 sec and it appearing to come from the upper end of the feeder house. Can a bent feed chain bar cause this sound?
also it could be a slat or the feeder chain jingling on the stone roll if you run the stone roll in the upmost position when harvesting canola. very common on the TR combines. TR 99s have an optional rubber covered bearing assy on each side to carry the upper span of the feeder chain which quietens things considerably by preventing contact with the stone roll
broken slat, bent slat, chain a little loose, maybe a rock in the trap that hits a slat, loose bolts holding the slat to the chain, look inside and have someone roll over the drive for a good inspection..
