Running a JD 2630 monitor in the drill tractor this spring and wondering if I can do a interior boundary if I don't have Itechpro so I now where to pull the drill out? I would make 1 round around the field and then seed the middle and then do 2 more headland passes on each end is what I thinking. Or if I load all the maps onto the monitor can I just go off that? We are only running SF1. Or how you do you it when you do headlands last? It seems I always end up over lapping 1/2 a drill width when I just try guessing:mad:!! Thanks

Your guessing fairly good, considering you could be traveling as much as 9 feet per second. I would have to have electronics do it all for me to do better than that.

The sight line of the nose of the tractor about to intersect the field edge was a good gauge on the older tractors. With these slope nose tractors its all about depth perception, I guess.

Not so good for us middle age guys in the dust. We won't know where the edge is till it goes off the bottom of the windshield.

Try doing exactly what you said and you will have it pretty close after a couple fields. We put the 2630 on my side x side to map out the boundaries last year. And then did 2 headlands last with interior boundary to turn on/off seed and fert in sections. Worked amazing.

I would think you could set that up in your monitor to beep at you or shut down the seed at a prescribed distance from field edge . I know you can on a Trimble CFX750 & FMX . I would think the 2630 you have has got to have that option in it .

So you when you do your outside round you tell the monitor what headland direction and headland group width? Never ran the new monitors yet so wasn't sure if you could do that. The only 1 I know is the brown box. Hope the snow leaves soon so I can go try it out!!
