I have an Outback STS (light bar and screen, no autosteer) that I have used the last 2 seasons with excellent results, but one thing I have noticed is that one field it refuses to acknowledge I have worked about 4 ft. of ground in the headland. The only thing I can think of that would create the anomaly is a buried hydro line (single phase) going to a local Hutterite Colony. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, and what effect if any that would have on someone using autosteer.

We've been using the entry level SF1 through JD with auto steer and can't say we have noticed anything odd around high voltage overhead powerlines but they are at the edge of the fields and we are not using the GPS then to steer with but its still painting a perimeter. Where we did have a major issue was with a particular two way radio in the tractor that when keyed would throw the GPS function out the window for many minutes and when I figured out what was causing it and swapped out for another two way unit, then all was fine. I expect an electronics wizard could explain what going wrong inside that radio could affect the GPS to that degree but it did show that its possible for interference like that to have a major effect on GPS equipment.
