When I start up the engine on my combine the head will lower its self without touching a button, and the auger will swing out with out pressing the button!..........I do get an error code for the head e-0696-07 if I remember right its something about the lower sensor on the machine.

But either way I, personally think its strange that the unload auger also swings out when the is some kinda problem with the header want to drop to the ground as soon as you start the machine up!

does the feeder drop without a header attached. Just wondering if you have some electrical problem in the connection?

Early 10 series combines had problems with the multifunction handles if I remember correctly

now that thought about it over a good nights rest......it makes me also think that there is some kinda problem in the multifunction handle. Since it is acting up in multiple ways (auger trying to swing out, header dropping down, an error about the reel height when the corn head is on the machine)

It could be your multifunction handle there is some zip ties you can try cutting of under armrest. Lift up the black armrest and remove the container in there and follow the wiring to the multifunction handle from factory they zip tied it too tight and would pull on harness. Just cut the zip ties off and try it again. The other thing I've seen on a 08 7010 combine that did the same thing was the armrest controller went bad and it had the same symptoms as you explained above. Could try swapping armrest controller with another combine if one is available.
