We're in Canada despite what my avatar says...:22:

What's involved in a gal coming from Australia to run a harvester?

I'm actually surprised by how many responses we got to our advertisement by Australian's, could be the season kind of work's out for them but it's kinda late in the game for a bunch of red tape.

Definitely willing to put in the effort as it sounds like they are interested in the seasonal work and ongoing.

If your in alberta you need to get a LMIA done which takes a few months at the least and we had to do the last one 2 times because the government changed things half way through and we had to start over. After you have that done you give them a work contract and they can enter the country. When they enter the country with the work contract lmia info they will get thier work visa unless they get a loser boarder gaurd that has power issues and then you are screwed. The dip **** boarder guards have the power to stop the whole thing.

Someone is trained the border guards to have people issues. They will take the applicants cell phone away from them put them in an interrogation room for 40 minuets and go through all the texts / emails and contacts to find any reason they should not be allowed to work here. This doesn’t always happen but like I said it’s really the border gaurd that has the last say. Because of this it took us 1.5 years to get a woman from Germany here with a work visa. The border gaurd ,a woman herself, made an assumption that a woman coming to Canada to work is not capable of running a combine so she must be coming to babysit kids instead. Which is illegal to do any work not in the contract. Her basis of this assumption was pictures of her nephew and niece on her phone. And the language barrier didn’t help.

We have also used CHFA to bring over a summer student and that went through very easily. We have also brought over several other people to work using a lmia and got work permits /visa without issue so it can work out like it should. Just be aware that they will look through thier cell phone at the border.
CHFA is the best IMO i used another company that was a joke and basically made things harder so be aware there are people out there taking advantage.
