Has anyone had any experience with, or knowledge of perfomrance engine chips for CR9040's? We're looking at putting one on our CR9040 to bump the HP up to a 9060 equivalent. Dealer said the chip can be purchased for $600.

This would be on a 1 year old machine (out of warranty already, so not out anything).

We're running an 8R corn head and 35' platform with the machine, in hills, and unloading on the go constantly.

First of all, if the machine is set right, you shouldn't have much for returns anyways. But it ended up being a mute point - had to trade machines at the last second. Too good of a price not to. Back to warranty and a stock engine.

Base Machine
$8.80/ac. for our own ground
$7.99/ac. total through the machine
$77.40/sep. hr. total on the machine

After outfitting it with Intellisteer
$10.56/ac. for our own ground
$9.58/ac. total through the machine
$92.88/sep. hr. total on the machine

Don't know. Dealer said they had chips in stock because several guys bumped their 9040's up since it was cheaper than buying a 9060. We went with another 9040. Handled our 8R corn head and 35' flex head fine okay last year, and that was with corn that never got below 22% moisture and most of the beans combine at 13-14%
