Hello everyone. Hope your grain is all in the bin. Rain here in SE KS. Lots of late beans and milo in the field.

Today I started to remove the clean grain auger from the bottom of my F to replace the flighting. Do I have to take the clean grain elevator loose at the top and swing it out or is there a trick to get this auger out? I phoned two different dealerships for advice and didn't get to talk to a mechanic as old as my combine! One said he had never worked on an F.

Any advice on this old threashing machine would be appreciated.

I think the "end plate" to the CG boot is riveted in place. Grind off all the rivets and screw the auger out the side. Replace rivets with 1/4" bolts/nuts.

That did it. Took out the rivets around the top of the boot and on the inside corners. removed outside, fore and rear of the boot. Got the auger out. Thank You
