Hello

Looking for an earlier maturing feed wheat. Been growing Soft white for years but the 110 day growing cycle is a little long. Was wondering how Fallar compares? This is in Southern Alberta. Had good luck with SOft white but looking for something else

Thanks

I’ve grown faller far a number of years. Very nice wheat. Fairly short good disease resistance and bushel weight. It’s called faller for a reason if you push the N too hard it will lodge. Very popular in my area as it’s good for the feed mills and elavators will take it also. Yield is a good 25 percent over hrs. Won’t be growing anything but faller in the near future.

The Prosper and Faller aren't doing too well in this recent wet weather relative to the HRS varieties I am told. Not sure the yield increase offsets the price penalty on those varieties either.

Last year in the drought our prosper was amazing. This year with more rain the Brandon outyielded it. The disease package just wasn't good enough for the damp conditions.
