I own a 1980 gleaner F2, My feeder beater finger guides were getting worn so I replaced the origional steel guides with the new poly ( plastic ) ones. Has anyone used these ? The problem is they fit a little snug and the fingers get mighty hot. I do not know if they will wear in and be fine, or if I should switch them back before harvest. Any comments welcome, Thank You

Thank you for the reply, After some research I found out that there are two different finger sizes. 5/8 inch and 9/16 inch, I have the 5/8 which makes it a little tight. I ran it for about 5 minutes and it seems to be wearing in ok. I hope they last..

we have a M gleaner and an A2 both with steel finger guides the local agco dealer reccomends steel guides in the feeder beater the poly guides will work fine if you run beans or small grain but if you are running corn they will last about as long as it takes to put them on i would change back to steel if it were mine i just bought some new steel guides for 10.80 each at the local agco dealer
