Any way around the feeder house sensor, located on the reversing drive? 1991 1680. Like to remove the chain so it doesn't run all the time. Been running 2 L2's, this is my 1st try at CaseIH's. Do you think I will notice any difference?
There is a way to do away with the sensor. It feeds into the feeder control module ,if it detects a slowing of the feeder it it would shut the feeder off.All you have to do is connect the correct plugs in the rh console on the cab where all the wiring and module are. I don't remember which wires but it is in the service manual or operators manual.
if it has a rocktrap that chain has to stay on. you can buy a chain with o-rings on the links and prelubed and that chain will last a long time dealer would have one. a 1991 1680 will run past an L2 you ll be happy
