Figures, rained out with 10 acres to go...so, decided to slap a missing chain on the feeder reverser. The motor goes 'round, but won't pull the feeder system in reverse. Any ideas appreciated. Safe harvesting, everyone! tom
Most likely the spring is broke in the clutch that turns feed system backward. This happens when somebody starts the feederhouse before light on dash goes out. (Should clarify, early feed reversers had a light on dash that would stay on for 6-8 seconds to allow spring to relax.New style is similar to limited slip differential and much more reliable with no light as you can imediately turn feeder house back on.) Be ready for some expense if you need to replace spring as last time we purchased one for customer it was over $200.
