We have always been told and have always ran filler plates in positions 1, 3, & 5 in our 9660 STS in canola and cereals. Talking at the elevator yesterday and a fellow says he never runs the plates in canola.
What does everyone else do?

5 of my friends don't 1 does,
I think the filler plates do work!
we tried them in and got a better sample, the thing in canola you have to do is block off the pre-sieve a bit so it doesn't overload the sieve right away.

840 fan? that's a little high I found I was losing too much with fan above 750.

On our 9860premium I run zero fillers on canola. On cereals it depends on the year and how it thrashes. Canola (60bpa) settings I normally start at:

500rotor in low gear
780-800fan
32concave
14,5 sieve

I try to keep ground speed realistic too.
