I was trying to compare some filters (fuel and oil) as far as quality is concerned, which brought me to ask if anyone happens to know who manufactures the filters that Case-New Holland puts their name on? How about the ones that get the John Deere name put on them?

Each of the big companies, such as Deere or CNH, has two or three suppliers for their filters or belts, oil, etc. These Companies provide the specs to the manufacturer and in the event of a plant fire halting production, or a labour dispute, Deere or CNH is not without supply of needed parts. So it is hard to say who actually manufactures for whom in a lot of cases. (I hope I have my grammar correct in that last sentence???)

Now when it comes to aftermarket, such as Wix, Baldwin, NAPA, they do have a better price, but not necessarily a better filter.

We have been running baldwin on everything for about 8 years. got into an argument with our local Cummins dealer about running baldwin filters on a brand new Kenworth, the truck gets in a wreck and goes to the KW dealer to get fixed and comes back with Baldwin filters on it, I'm surprised because it didn't have fleetgaurd on it, the KW dealer being a certified cummins dealer I figured they'd have to use fleetgaurd for warranty purposes, So I took the truck by Cummins and showed the shop manager the balwin filters KW put on it. He just got this look like, ****, he called me out on my bluff.
