Looked at a zillon pictures of 2388's and havn't seen one yet. Can someone post a pic or two of where and how you mount a fire extinguser on the hand rails to the cab entrence?

Kept my big one off my 1480 and I had it mounted on the front of the grain tank. Don't want to do this to my new machine but still want it handy when leaving the cab.

Thanks

We mounted a piece of large PVC tube onto the flat panel above the fuel tank. The fire extinguisher just sets in the tube then. See this picture for a visual:http://lefebure.com/farming/2006fall/images/100910.jpg

The other thing I've seen done is to mount one of two of them using tarp straps to the back side of the hopper, right next to the engine bay. They sit right on the cat walk.

Thanks guys.....the machine I will most likely get will be the 2388 and looking at it, it has one already at the back and I will put mine up on the ladder or will look at inside the cab between the 2 seats. Mine might be toooooo big for there though.

Open to any other ideas...Thanks

Hi
make 2 steel rings out of 3/4" or 1" x 1/8" flat Mild Steel, to make loose fit around your extinguiser, then weld the same flat between the rings on one side as a spacer, & a guide, (have the bottom ring up about 4" other ring up near the top of ext.
on the other side of the ext, weld a heaver RHS (square section) for mounting to where ever it tickles your fancy. not sure if i have a photo, try find one.

took me a while to think of this design, is simple & cheap, no rusted clips & so on to fight with when the flames are growing,
i mounted 1 at the rear of 2188 near fuel tank fill to the hand rail, other is on cat walk in rear of grain tank right next to engine bay.
these are water ext.

put a little on inside the inspection door next to header cab entrance. can fit 2 foam ones in there if you like burning red stuff.

mounting one on the ladder is a pain in the but, need to have a strong mount if its a large water ext.

try get u photo, make it alot easier

Nice pics there phillphy....the one on the ladder looks to be the one for me. Need to get the machine home so I can start mounting things like that.

hi

the 2188 is ours.. the others... we just look at them. the license plate is a legal requirment in Aust now, so can travel on the roads. more like another fund raiser......... BS

quads, tractor, harvesters... they all suppose to be rego for the road, lights & brakes working too.
