First time growing flax and just started harvesting. A few questions:

the sample has some black seeds. What causes this and is it a downgrading factor (do I even have to ask)

Is flax fussy to store like canola. It's testing 9.5

My settings on a 9770: rotor 920, fan 700, concave 2, top 8 bottom 2
does this seem reasonable? Seem to be getting a pretty good sample. I had the chaffer open more but was getting too high returns.

I've never been downgraded for miscoloured seeds. I think they could downgrade it, but I've never personally seen it before.

Yes, flax is somewhat fussy. Should be maximum 10%. Keep your eye on it. It can easily start to heat.

No idea on the combine settings, though.

Settings on our 9750 rotor 1000 fan 800 concave 4 airfoil chaffer and bottom 4. Just gave it a try on Monday night but will add fillers on 1,2,5,6 picking up 60' helps with more material for clean sample.
