Can a '94,1688 handle a 30' flex head in 30bu/A. beans? 50 bu./A.? or irrigated 70 bu. beans? Have fixed air foil and specialty rotor with Kuchar concaves. I am new to a 1688 and have only cut wheat so far. Any preferences for a head, IH o JD? Any thoughts and experiences would be helpful. Thanks.

I had a '94 1688 with a 25' 1020 flex head and cut some 30 and 35bu/A beans. Handled it very well. I think that 70bu. beans might be too much with a 30' head.

You'll be fine with that we used to have a 1680 that we ran a 30' head on it's entire life and it ran 70 to 75 bushel beans without a problem....

Thanks for the useful knowledge. What year do you mean by a later 1020? I have been looking at '97 - '01. Trying to find a decent one with a Crary due to double crop acres. Hope they won't bother in tall irrigated beans.
