Most ptarmigan growers spray at heading right? Cost is 5.8 bushels for plane(prosaro 17, plane 9.25 and about 4.50/bushel) and not much less to run my own. Does ground sprayer do better job? Have to get minimum 8 bushels more or forget it. What is the average gain? Yes depends on weather but should still be an average. Thanks for your experience.

Used to grow Ptarmigan but afraid I can't help you. I sprayed Folicure every year at heading and always had good luck. Never felt had to use Prosaro in Winter Wheat as the pressure seems less than in Spring Wheat. I use Prosaro on all my Spring Wheat though. As far as the plane v ground rig question I have never run an accurate test or trial on that. Have been to a few Phil Needham (Wheat Growing Guru from States) events and he says that a ground rig is much better. I have a lot of respect for Phil so I have always taken his word on it.
