We are in need of replacing our pump from our three 3000 gallon bulk tanks. We currently have a 2” gas pump with 2” inlet and outlet hoses. The impeller is totally shot as it only puts out 80 gallon per minute. We load nitrogen for corn pre and the water for all post.
We found a 3” that pumps 360 gallon per minute and a 2” at 160. We have a John Deere with 1250 tank. Would the three inch be overkill? I’m also thinking about the shear volume as we won’t get our chemicals all sucked in the cone with the 3”.
How would the 2” with all 3” plumbing work is my question.

We are getting a wet seal 3 inch with 16hp Honda electric start with 360 GPM. Have a friend that works for AG spray equipment so we get a decent discount.

Bigger pump make sure your tank can vent fast enough. Our 1200 gallon tank needs the top open. The 2 small vents that came in it don’t cut it. And that’s with a 2” pump
