What's best method to remove/replace gathering chain drive sprockets on a black head? Knock pins out,heat&pull? Barbique new ones for installation? Support needed to drive em on?

I would not use heat. If I remember right the last time I removed one it was not that hard to pull with a posilock puller. After cleaning the shaft it went back on with light tapping.

never took very much to pull, even less to install.

Idaho rocks tend to break the shaft.
