Yes I welded some 3" hardened Genn tips on a set of new 4" wide single shoot bourgault 200 series openers last year. Worked awesome. The year before I was lucky to get 1200 acres out of a new set. Now they would last 3 years. And I'm not changing the depth setting everyday too. They're not quite as good as carbide but price is good and pretty easy to weld on. Just preheat and let them cool slowly in a batt of insulation.
