Good looking head. I really like the looks of the dual sickle with those SCH epicyclical drives. Will be interesting to hear how it does in beans this fall. I think there's going to be one running pretty close to our farm so I'm hoping to be able to get away and check it out.

Wow 84 grand! That seems expensive but it could be I'm a little out of touch of what new heads cost. We bought an Agco draper a couple years ago but it was used. I thought one of the big selling points Agco was pushing on this new head it was going to be cheaper than the competitors. What's a similar new MacDon cost now a days? I don't think this new Flex Draper requires an expensive adapter that should help keep some cost down.

I had a harvester friend tell me that he paid around $70k for a piece for a new MacDons a year ago. They were both 35 ft flex drapers.

The new Agco DynaFlexes are slick. I've had the opportunity to run one in soybeans. The only problem is you have to set the reel high so you don't cut the reel teeth off. This prevents the operator from being able to sweep the cutterbar clean. That is where MacDon has the edge. If it works out, I'll be running a MacDon this fall in beans for my harvester friend.

It seems to be an interesting attempt at mechanical driven draper heads. It will be interesting to see if they can keep the cogged belts aligned and free of crop debris. Also wonder if the open air right angle miter gears provide adequate durability. I think they could get too hot and dry. Evenutally, the industry will evolve to Center Line Auxillary Drive - CLAD and provide center line knife and reel drive systems - will save the cost of drive shafts out to the end of 40 ft headers. I did not see much sign of std. transport pads on the displayed header, but did not look at that very closely. Will check closer this week at HHD.
