I blew a whole summer making those mods to a N7 when I was 17. The extra helical and all forward bars make crop flow awesome. No rumbling whatsoever in green crop.
The rotor loss was also awesome. As in dropping the straw in wheat the seeds were so thick they were touching.
Parked it after that and still have the damn thing.

Don't know how that got there!
You know, this summer was the first wheat harvest where I didn't put a couple reverse bars in, even though I've done the other mods. Always worried about rotor loss. Well, f concave bars, feed opening mod, dry bean kit helicals, so they carry all the way across the top of the cage and all forward bars. No rotor loss and no green streak behind the combine under the straw chute.

I did use a couple pair of well worn rasp bars on the separator side, so that likely helped shake the wheat out. Guess I don't need no stinkin reverse bars!

Guess I wonder how well this works in corn? Do you need reverse bars if it's been otherwise modified?

Need to add, did these mods on my old R50 and my new (to me) R52.

Do you think it has to do with the differences between the p1 and p3 processors? Guess I'd be disappointed too if I did all the work, only to see the grain thick on the ground behind me.
