We had an old K to do IP beans with, it worked very well for those jobs. A neighbour had a old straight cut head off an E that did fit the K. The only issue is the E used 4 latch pins, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom, that would snap into the feeder house. A real pain to change the head on the K as you had to be 100% aligned before it would fit on the K. We modified the E head by adding the lift hooks on top, and removed the 2 top pins that made the head mounting much easier.

Before the E went to the scrap yard we took off all the sprockets on the shoe/beaters/etc as they were in better shape of our K and matched right up. Did the same for feeder beater, main seperator clutch and even the straw chopper. I would recommend salvaging anything that is in good shape as most parts are interchangable.

E's Front drive wheels are 8 bolt, same as K.
E's back wheels are 6 bolt, same as K.
E's hydraulic system pump/reservoir is same as early K [prior to sn 8201- I think?]. If not, the pump can be used elsewhere besides a combine?
E's engine is D17 tractor 226 4 cylinder, so if it runs good, you may want to offer it for sale at allischalmers.com tractor site. Even if it needs rebuilt, some of those guys may have interest. That engine has sleeve pistion design, so rebuild is better. A puller enthusiast may be interested as they will probably bore it out anyway.
E's clean grain elevator & return elevator may be same as K?
