I'm too lazy to start tracing wires, so I'll ask if anyone has had this trouble first.

The 04 CR970 that I run will not keep the feedhouse at a constant level.

When it is in forward or reverse it will always fall and then bump back up, then fall again and bump back up. About 5% difference on the height gauge. When the machine is stopped it will just drop to the ground. When it is shut off it will drop to the ground and you can hear oil rushing through the block.

But when I am in stubble height cutting mode it stays dead level at whatever I set it at.

Anyone had this weirdness and a fix for it? No codes at all, either

Thanks Jester. I've been reading in the book and figuring I probably have an internal leak thats bleeding off pressure. I sure hope its not that box at least! I'll wait until after harvest in case I need some "CNH special" o rings from belgium or spain (where that little box is from) or china. Of course, if they come from china I could get our olympic team to bring them back. Doesn't look like their doing anything else useful over there...
