Anyone put used grader blades under their hopper bottom skids? Did this on some fertilizer bins and it worked well. Have some bins with narrower skids so thinking of cutting a blade in thirds stack two thick and put maybe every foot or so under the skid. Had railroad ties under these and didn’t work so well as they sunk in unevenly. Thinking blades might work better.

If railroad ties didn’t work I wouldn’t bet on grades blades either. How soft is ground and how big of bins? 10000bu hoppers maybe settle 3-5 inches on a hard gravel base with a triple skid. Fertilizer bins seem to settle about 6 inches on same pads.

have blades under all our hoppers and so far so good cut into thirds and under each leg takes lots of cutting gas best if you can find a friend with a big plasma cutter.
