Has anyone with a 7240 got issues with grain leaking on top of gearbox underneath the shaker table? Looks like it is coming from the corners of the feederhouse where it is attached to the machine.
The flap on the shaker table seems to be fine.
I was going to put some foamtape in the corners of the feederhouse but there might be a better solution....

The leak is likely where the cross member that holds the rotor bearing meets the cast ear behind it. The best way I have found to fix it is to pull the cross member off and clean the area then lay down a heavy bead or two of windshield urethane and install the cross member. I have been able to access it by removing the upper half moon and sealing it however it tends not to stick due to not getting it clean enough. The silicone isn’t strong enough and fails.

Thanks.
I'll look into that. I could hear grain against the cab sometimes. so you must be on the money!
