Grain Platform for John Deere 3300

I am needing to put a grain platform on our JD 3300 combine. I have found a 215 header pretty cheap but it has the quick attach mounting brackets. Our combine has the older style where the feeder house mounts into the head. (In other words it has filler plates on the feeder house) I was wondering could the newer style head work without too much fabrication work or am I better off getting one that is made specifically for the combine.
