Hi all, new to the board. We just recently got a 2188 and used it for wheat harvest. My dad and i were wondering if there is a way to adapt John Deere's green star 2 yeild monitoring system into this combine. We've been using it in our tractor for auto steer since this spring and would like to have the ability to use it to produce yeild maps of the fields to later on start a variable rate fertilizer program. The John Deere guys say we cant but was just wondering what everyone else thought. If we cant use this, is there some other way to adapt the GS2 to another brand of yeild monitor to do the same thing so we can use the autosteer aspect of the GS2.
Thanks all
Chris

Whats your case dearler say ?

Also they might give you something for it and you could save some money on the case display..

thats a stretch..

U will love the yield monitor in it.

Make sure over winter you take it out and store it somewhere safe and good temperature.

Also go to caseafs.com and email them. Sometimes they know alot more than dealers

Well we havent talked to case yet, only John Deeres installer of the GS2 equipment from our local dealer. We dont really want to go and spend the money on another system such as the AFS system that case offers seing that we already have all the money tied up into the GS2 system and subscriptions. The 2188 we have does not have any type of yield monitor in it right now so we're starting from scratch. Just wondering if there is a way to put the John Deere sensors on the combine, such as the moisture sensor and grain sensor on the clean grain elevator and wire it into the GS2.
