My neighbor got a new one this year, replacing a JD, and seems pretty happy with it. He said there were a few minor issues with it, but I believe the dealer sorted them all out, or promised to when he'd finished seeding. The aluminium boom has a lifetime warranty, where Hardi will send someone out to fix any cracks or problems, because they want them fixed right - not 'farmer welded' if you know what I mean. It does look like a really solid boom.

He said it uses a lot less fuel than the JD, and is much quieter in the cab.

How would hydro drive go on hills STO compared to gold acres direct drive? The Hardi is 275 HP versus 225 in the Goldacres - identical engine - i assume the HP is for the hydro - so would no doubt use more fuel...if lugging up hills is an issue?

Do you intend to keep or is re-sale important?

The hardi boom looks good - and parts in Adelaide would have to be a big consideration in my book.

I have a old saritor I bought cheap. The old saritors are a miller condor tractor hard I tank, boom and rate control. I would find it hard to go past a mechanical drive tran over a hydro. Fuel economy and component isolation are big plus's.

What are all your thoughts on the apache sprayers?
Thought the goldacres were a fair bit overpriced!
Really do like the induction hopper on the hardi, & the run dry pump, would only be concerned
on the hydro drive! Prob do have the best brand wh motors tho.

Currently run a Presidio near Dalby on the Darling Downs. 90' eagle boom, 120"track, paradyme steering. Very happy 20mths in. It is light on the ground - 420R46 Michelin tyres, good on fuel and comfortable to drive. 1.5m clearance is great for sorghum and 2740l tank works well. Hydro is strong -Bosch Rexroth. Service/backup from Widelands and Hardi has been great. Was tossing up between this and the JD4630 and so far happy with the choice. Only question maybe resale but time will tell on that as more of them get around the place.
