Nice pictures. How did the R62 handle the draper?

Capacity wise it handled it great. I would say the 30 ft draper on the 62 in our conditions matches up perfect. Header seems to be pretty heavy though. No problem with lifting but we had really muddy fields early in harvest and made the front of that combine like an anchor. It didn't come with the floating gauge wheels I'm wondering if that would help lighten the front of the combine going through the field?

Nice pictures. How'd your wheat do?

The first draper I've ever seen was an Agco on a R72. I thought it was pretty slick. I'm not sure how the Agcos work, but on our MacDon the gauge wheels, along with the suspended adapter, help a lot. Being able to let the header float on the ground takes a noticeable amount of weight off the drive tires.

One of the reasons why I don't like going into Tractor Supply Company. I've got nothing against Deere, but all the green merchandise thrust at me just feels patronizing. "Oh, you're from the country. You must want a leaping deer plastered on everything."

okpanhandle,

Yep I think gauge wheels would help alot. The brackets are already there to put them on. I think the Agco draper floats on the adapter similar to the Macdon.

Had a really wide range of yields this year. Overall a pretty down year. The first 2 weeks in June we just seemed to have a bullseye for severe weather. Got some golf ball hail with high winds then caught another storm with 90 mph straight line winds then the day after harvest started got a 3 inch rain. That's why the wheat in the pictures looks flat and twisted. We cut a lot of wheat in the low 20's to the best which avoided these storms at 58. Overall came in right around 30.
