Just bought a new harvestec 4306c chopping head and wondering about the 3-5 horsepower taken per row. Think I will have to turn the pump up for normal operating conditions. Currently running '03 2366 pump set stock. Also do you think I will need a tall corn kit like the one I had on my old 1063 IH head. Got a chance to get a real good look at one the other day and the gathering chains are 2 times as heavy as the 1063 chains. The harvestec is built alot heaver than the IH.

It takes more power for sure,if you are already taped out for power you will notice this head.
Another problem is the header drive shaft is not heavy enough on some of the IH's, does yours have the heavy one or the standard. The problem was on some of the olders ones, maybe all the 23's have the heavy one, I'm not sure.
