These are some pictures I took of the wheat harvest in Western Kentucky. Wheat is harvested in WKY in mid-June and soybeans are double cropped in right behind the combines.

They are impressive drills. The Horsch Anderson drills used by this farm a 60ft models. They kind of plant like the Concord drill planting the rows in a ribon with two row close and then a small divde and another two close rows.

For the beans they work right through the heavy straw.

Other than the 9650 pictured the other wheat pictures are from Garnett Farms in Hopkinsville, KY. They plant 6,000 acres of wheat that is double cropped into 6,000 acres of soybeans. Wheat is harvested in mid June and soybeans are harvested in late October.

They also plant just over 10,000 acres of corn. I will post some corn shelling pictures from the farm.

I saw a post about tobacco above. Garnett Farms also plant around 200 acres of tobacco.
