we recently updated from a tr 97 to a cr960 it has about 1500 seperator hours on it, it ran fine for about 3 weeks and here latey it started showing a fault code and loosing power the code says ECU SEG and it says stop, the service department at the dealership had us put a boost pressure sensor and another sensor on it today, we ran it for 1 round and it lost all power it will run about 1 mph in standing rice with a 25 ft honey bee header and normally runs 3 without a grunt. They have tried to do everything to it and no one can figure out what is going on with it. When it is showing this problem the boost pressure shows about 30lbs and the load percent shows 70% it will hardly go 1mph and unload. The thing is rated for 320 horse power and we have a neighbor with a 280 horse machine that has been cutting circles around ours compared to what it can do. Any suggestions are needed

Two things that I have had trouble with, 1st cr had a hole in intercooler, will not build enough boost, also have had clamps break that hold rubber hoses to turbo.

Rented a CR960 last year and was down on power. Putting in a new air cleaner made it a different animal and worked great then.

Know it sounds daft but have you changed the filter on the fuel tank, because they dont like dirty fuel, also do you have a water seperater filter near the tank filter, if you do there is a very small filter in the top of it.

we tried everything and ended up putting an engine controller on it we can now cut five and a half mph through soybeans with a 25ft flex head

I would check the wiring harness that feeds into the ecu. Some machines of this series will wear tiny holes in the harness after it vibrates and rubs on the ribbing of the protective coating that encases the harness.

I would also look at the connections at the ecu. In some cases similar to this replacing the ECU itself has been the answer. Just a few thoughts.

Hi I am new to this (based in UK).
CR960 has a Iveco Cursor 8 engine fitted.
The error code SEG indicates a fault with the camshaft speed sensor circuit (Sensor, Wiring or ECU).This is normally displayed with error code 413 – SEG signal defect.

The sensor is inductive (creates its own voltage as metal passes by it). Resistance across pins 1 & 2 = 820 – 920- Kohm.

Check the complete circuit back to the ECU.

The phonic wheel on the camshaft can come loose which could also cause the problem (if it is loose it needs to the correctly timed to the flywheel).

When the code is displayed the power will be reduced and the max speed MAY be reduced. You may also find that the engine takes longer to fire as the ECU has to work out which cylinder is on the compression stroke (take 2 revolutions).

When the CR960 is running correctly in work you should achieve 100% load while the engine speed maintains at 2100rpm (after 100% load the engine speed will slowly start to die away). Under this much load you should see around 2.8bar boost pressure.
