Hi just curious as to what people are paying for their hay to be pressed up? More so with the 8x4x3 size.. We run our 8x4x3 at $19 a bale which is in between contractors in my area which are between $18-$20 a bale?

Paid $17 plus fuel this year.

Paid $22 to have barley straw baled behind harvester. Contractor supplied fuel. New machine and a good quality job. Neighbour paid same money to have oats put into round bales.

We charge 16 for a 4*4 round bale with cover edge net wrap including fuel.

Neighbours round bales are 5x4 with net wrap. Meant to be around 400kg. Not sure about that though.

Bit of variance over the country.. We were paying $17.50 plus fuel around 8-10 years ago.. So maybe we are on the dearer side for baling apart from rhinoz price.

Between $18-20 inc fuel here...Hamilton and north of there can be up to $22...8x4x3...

Will have staw/weeds getting pressed up after harvest...

Haven't heard what they charge for rounds...plus silage wrap..what's that worth a bale?

I paid $12 for a 5ft roll with net wrap and $14 to have them wrapped individually. I've had 283 4x3x8 squares of wheaten/ryegrass hay pressed but haven't seen the bill yet. In the past it's been around $18 per bale (the contractor supplies everything) and I pay rake hire per hectare but I've got no idea what that is. It's a good rake though, 18 wheel Schinkle V rake with rear wheel steer, does a **** good job.
