I would go steep pitch all the way, I went with steep in threshing then the shallow pitch in separation in my N6. Big improvement over flat bars but I agree steep all the way would keep the crop mat thinner and less compacted allowing the grain to separate easier.
helicals question
Looking for opinions or experiences with using steep pitch helicals on both the threshing AND separation ends of a R72 cage. Spent some time laying in the cage this evening pondering this. Currently have 68 pitch at threshing end and since the sep end bars need replacing I'm seriously cosidering putting in the fast pitch type. Silly idea?
