Yesterday we had a rock end up in the rotor. To make a long story short I was wondering if anyone knows where there would be a used rotor gearbox for an R-62. We don't really want to fork over $6300 for a new one if there is a used one out there. Any idea what a used one would cost? TIA

Just had to replace the gearbox on R72. Had cut rice all night and about 6:30 last Thursday was going down top of levee and straw was wet with fire ant mounds and one slug too much---broke gearbox in half.

Got a rebuilt one from Cook Tractor Salvage in Clinton, MO. Ask for Stan Cook --one of the owners. $2750

Only difference in the gearboxes is the size of mounting holes--R42,52,62, 72 all the same but 50, 60 , 70 have 3/8 mounting bolts and later models have 1/2 bolts.

Had a neighbor gut his on R62 the week before--no oil---and he had already called around and found Cook, but he got a better deal $2500

Thanks we got it all taken care of. Found the case from a scrap yard and out all our good parts in it. She's back in the field now. The thing we had the hardest time getting was the new concave. No one around here had one in stock. Again thanks for the input and hopefully we don't ever have to do it again
