Gday, wondering whats best, weve got a WD2303, Case Windrower with a HB30ft but want to upgrade, do we keep on the HoneyBee line or can a Macdon be made fit, HoneyBee works quite nice but just wondering what peoples thoughts are.

Also can you get a 40ft HoneyBee for these? The 36's look alright but would like a bit bigger?

Are the Macdon fronts better or do they just have a good feed system, HB have good knives and reels?

Cheers

Get both. it's really nice to quickly see your cutting height and angle on the display console. I have a honeybee on a 4895 deere as well. the only reason we still have it is resell now is the pits and it does a decent job swathing canola still. can wait till proper colour change and then head out and swath instead of staring too early

Most split reels drive in the center, so the drive mechanism only has to power 1/2 a reel. The one piece U2 reel drives on the 36' honeybee and agco headers were famous for breaking. It was hard to hook the torque from the drive up to the end of the reel without breaking it. Most were welded up often.

Don how do the 3 piece reels in the new FD2 headers drive? If its from the end, there may be potential problems coming as they get a few more hours on them.

Similar to the previous models, hydraulic motor/chain/sprocket arrangement between the center and right reel.

I think right side was picked as header is heavier on the left side mainly due to carrying the entire hitch on the left side.

2388 goes good. Got a 6130 too both with the old 39 ft fronts. both punch well above their weight. Still havnt started here yet. soft finish slowing things up but this week should make a blow. Dry ish year, below ave. Frost a month ago. See what happens. Grain prices will help this year.
