Hey was looking at adding a crary hopper extension on our 7010 and was wondering if that interfered with being able to fold it up/down in a short amount of time like it is now? Just to clarify wanting to put just the short 8 or 10 inch straight up and down section on top the oem extension, i think they are called tip ups. Any other manufacture make a better tip up? Anything else good or bad on these. thanks

I have the crary on my 7010. It does take longer to fold, once you get the system down it is not too bad. You have to take out 12 more pins, 2 ball retain pins in each flip up (I ended the season with 4) & a pin with clip in each corner. There is a 1/4 inch size rod 3 or 4 foot long in each corner that connects the adjoining flip ups together to support the rubber crary corners. The rod comes with a bolt in one end and the pin with clip in the other end. I think I will put a pin in place of the bolt, so the rod can be removed and set in the hopper when folding. The rod tends to be in the way when folding.
The 252 receiver has to be removed before folding, with or without the the crary. It doesn't hold as much as they tell you, I think 350 bu is about all you get.
Clear as mud...

Put on this extension half way through harvest. Sshould have done it sooner. We were very close to 400 bu on an 8010. It does stick up in the air close to 16'We only have to take it dn once but it is not really fast to take down. Has anyone figured out how to fold it all dn without deforming the rubber corners? I folded ours dn then once in storage I folded it back up.
If I were ordering it new I would leean towards a j&m ext. Buddy has one on 7010 and it is a lot wider but not near as tall as mine and holds approx. the same.
P.S. Took about a morning to install ext.
