There is a large Marshal single cylinder stationary engine at the Westlock Antique Tractor Museum and I'm a member of the vintage tractor and machinery club. I have been wanting to start this engine for a few years now, it was donated to the museum and since then the original owner has passed away and nobody knows how to start this beast.

It a hot bulb engine.
Looks like a lever on the fuel pump for priming I assume.
There is a lever on the side of the head, looks like a decompression lever. [It siezed from sitting... not badly]

I can get pics later... but wondering if anyone here can remember these old marshal engines?
I'm thinking it's about 17 hp ??
Flywheels are about 4' diameter.

Thanks!

starting is similar to the old lanz bulldog engines ../
the hot bulb [in the head] had to be preheated with [presumably] an old gasoline torch or similar

they would run on pretty much anything with a petrochemical base , lol
