Re: how do i adjust the feeder lift relief pressur

There is no actual relief valve just for the head. You have to set the high pressure standby for the entire machine. By raising it, you raise the pressure for most of the hydraulic circuits on the combine. Do you have one or two lift cylinders?

Thanks wptrav, I had the tech out and sure enought the high pressure standby was down to 2700psi. turned it back up to spec (3000) problem solved. Well at least it did the trick. The real problem is the head is stupidly heavy. (should have the 12 row ready package i would think) This was just a loaner head so we just needed it to get by till 8 row non-chopping head gets hear. We just got the machine 2 wks ago and i thought the steering was tough as well, this pressure change hopefully fixes that as well.
Thank you
