What is the trip lb rating on JD 1830 trips, and also BG 5710. I'm looking at a 2012 NH 2050, (Flexi 5000) with 350 lb trips. Is 350 enough to hold 4 inch BG paired row opener in a silty clay loam soil that can get hard. Currently run a 5000 with 550 trips

The 1830 has either 550 or 350 lbs trips with only the springs being different. The 5710 comes in 230, 330, or 450 lbs. most 1830s including ours came with 550lbs and work great in our clay, clay loam. Unless you have a pile of stones, id go heavy trips.

As Megrizzley stated Bourgault 5710 comes with 230,330,or 450 trips. I just got rid of a real nice drill because the 330 trips were not heavy enough to hold a Dutch Universal 4" PR opener, or a 3" stealth and definitely not a Precision style. However I think the sharp cutting edge of the BTT Advantage just might work at 4 1/2 mph
