Our local gleaner technician has had great success on the 8.3 QSC by removing the engine control box and sends it to a fairly close cummins dealer and they 'shoot in' a 350 hp program that has proven to work very well both in horsepower and torque drop control. He said there is a program that can raise the M11 into the 400 hp region and is again downloaded into the engine control box by a cummins tech that has the necessary equipment to change the engine fuel curve. No chips are involved as the different fuel program is an actual cummins item and must alter fuel delivery and timing to change horsepower and torque curve. To my knowlege though he has not actually changed any M11 to the different program but he says it can be done.

I did send M11 pump and ECM into Cummins for a guy. I told Cummins to crank it to what you legally can. I'm sure he said all he can do is 350HP. I also replaced fuel pressure sender for plenty of them have been bad and then they will not even put out the 330HP. That guy was definitely happy with machine for it performed very well. You can find my feeling on chipping engines at

I've been in contact with the guy in that thread and he was running stock HP

PFP has access to same chip I do. You can set at 10,20, or 30%. If chip does not do the trick you would need to have pump checked out to be sure it is not week. A week fuel pressure sender will be OK with chip. It doesn't have a P/N and is a black box. These boxes run +-$1000US. Downfall would be people could be affraid of trading or purchasing a machine that had had a chipped engine. See link to post above for I would never want to just dump more power into a machine before hyping it up to flow straw first. You may find all the capacity you desire by first flowing straw like it can be.

the chip is like VIAGRA for the M11!! 1/3 more cap in wheat.. the RPM sits right @ 2200 , doesnt bounce around . you can pull it down to 2100 but you have no reserve left ..(You have hit maxium Q there scotty ) the temp gauge came up slightly (low green)fuel consumpsion per acre went down!!!! I cant say that for a Chipped 9760 JD I ran with. You could pay a driver very very well on the differance... The BIGGEST FEAR the JD owner had wasnt his sample or his over loaded shoe, but this,"dont let that silver S O B pass you" !!! Well guess what he said "wait untill tonight my Jd is a real dog during the day... " I dont Know how dark it had to get but the silver S O B didnt get any slower. But to be fair, the JD could unload into the semi and get back into the hunt quicker ... UNloading auger mods anyone ? EVEN if you donot chip your M11 the Best single thing you can do for any gleaner is to SPEED UP THE CHOPPER / IMPELLER !!!!!! This will get rid of any "rumble" you'll feel ....If you dont belive it look @ your cage, is it bluged ?? IF it can't get rid of the straw out the end it'll try to force it out the side thus bluging your cage.... And replace worn pulleys even if "well they look ok " that drive the chopper and accellerater rolls keep them new... these are the hardest working pulleys on the machine.. they have a very important job to do ..... Next,The r 72 I have is 98 WITH a m-11 cummins 330hp it kept loseing power after round or two . replaced the fuel rail pressure senser in the head{ the thing that you ll plug the chip into, yup its that easy}..the combine ran great until the tech went out of sight then it died . dead ..." what the f#*k???. a 500 $ serice call didnt fixit ,so dig, ten minutes later
the problem was found in a corroded fuse holder thats located below the engine / outside next to the return elevator. This circuit controlls the fuel shut off solinoid . I hope this will help if you have this problem. I also have a precision rotor from pfp sherwood nd call and ask for mike 701 459 2228 he 's the answer man. Remember there are no stupid questions just ones that arent asked.. GETTERDONE

You do not need a chip for a M-11, all you have to do is drill out the lead ball on the pump and turn up delivery pressure, I have did it to numerous 72's and most of them ended up with about 320 HP at the main clutch shaft.
