it must be a 06 model cause is a 940 for sure i am looking to upgrade this year from my tr 98 an at this point in time in australia the size of the comb/header is the money maker when things turn around different story but until then
Farme76 when you say 25% backup does that mean 25 more hp or 25% of of 295 how much bigger is the cr 940 wit chopper compare with tr 98 with out chopper

We have a TR98 with a chopper and demoed a 03 CR940. Not impressed. There was a hp upgrade that year and they got more power in subsequent years. The problem with a 940 vs TR98 is the CR has 10 to 12 thousand more pounds to move around. They are vastly more comfortable. The 06s were the best of the early CRs. Some think they were the best overall even with the new 9000 series in the mix.

We currently run a CR970 and the TR98. If you want capacity coming out of your ears, the 970 is quite a machine. When we have bad years (not if, but when) I don't know what we'll do to keep it full.

When the CR940 went down in corn one year they sent out at TR99. Not a 98 like your asking but basically the same. That TR99 would eat that CR940 in ever which way except the cab. The TR99 was running an 8r and the 940 a 6. Like Andy said about weight. There a heavy combine. And it shows in the 940. Look at a 960. The 940 and 960 are the same except the extra HP in the 960 will make it worth buying over the 940. I ran the next year a 9060 with an 8r. Now that would eat the TR99 in every which way.

Take care,

Nathan
