I have one row that continues to bother plugging the gathering chains. I closed the stripper plate opening a little and it seemed like it fixed it but after about two hrs it started plugging again.

check and make sure the gathering rolls are in time

also check the bars on the gathering rolls to see if they are good and the stalk deverter on the top could cause this in tough stalks.
check bearings on bottom sprocket. If gathering chain is running loose you have ran out of tensioning and need to replace chains.
