Okay, Compressor on the 1420 is not cycling as it should, refrigerant pressure light is on in cab which leads me to believe the low pressure cutout switch is made up, tried to add 134, finally got it to begin to take a can, compressor will only run when I use a jumper wire to make it run, otherwise it will never kick in to cycle the refrigerant I'm trying to add... what gives?

You do do not have a high and low pressure gauge set on, so you do not know what the low pressure is, need to add some 134 with the jumper on to see if the light goes out or get a set of gauges on to check the pressures.

Could it be that you have a bad low or high pressure cut out switch also i have had the dessicant in the reciever degrade and come out of the reciever and plug up the expansion valve which causes the high side pressure to skyrocket but the low side will be low because all the freon has been pumped to the high side .
