anyone ever experienced this tragedy??? so it resulted of any and all cooler/radiator getting destroyed by the wonderful plastic fan that shattered as it beheaded two baby raccons that managed to hide while i was inspect for stuff like this and checking fluids before the first start since we finished fall harvest
yeah and for some reason my boss thinks with the old metal cooling fan it would have just bent a blade and is pissed with case using a plastic fan he claimed that if someone was up there that they could have been killed by the shrapnal of the fan i think it would have been worse with the metal fan in the end
You can tell your boss the metal fan results in more of a mess than the plastic fan. Only when the metal fan lets go it takes outer rad shroud and some body panels with it too. I have seen the results of both and the result is similar with teeth, hair and eyeballs flying all over the place. Very nasty to cleanup/repair especially if let sit for a few hours on a hot day, not fun. Now have a habit of checking in the rad area in the morning before startup when machine is left over night in the field, especially near a woodlot. Honk horn and make lots of noise when pulling up to machine in the morning to scare critters out hopefully.
Re: ***** in fan shroud of 2007 2577 [PICTURES ADD
One of my first jobs when I was doing my internship for school was we had a trade in 9650 that I had to wash up. It was sittin on the lot and went to start it up and as soon as I did I heard the engine lug 2 times, well that made for a very long day. The only way I knew there were 3 **** was because I found 11 legs. Needless to say everytime I start a combine up thats been sitting even for a couple days I look in the engine compartment at the fan because I dont wanna do that again. The deeres use a metal fan on them too and they DONT give...

Neighbor had a brand new 8120 delivered to his farm. They parked it in the shed. A few days later they started it up for the first time and one **** caused a little over $10,000 in damage. Made me look in the housing every day prestartup to check for the buggers.

our dealer had same thing happen to a customer last fall on a 2588 destroyed everything radiator, fan, hyd. cooler. they turned it in to there insurance company and the customers insurance covered all repairs might be worth looking into i know it is not a cheap fix. i wonder if moth balls would keep out ***** if you put them all over the back compartment.
