We've had a problem with the R70 all day with the rear distribution auger binding up and smoking the belt. I noticed that it occasionally hits a hard spot and hangs up, after some inspection I noticed that the cage sweep looks like it hits the auger when it's on the lowest point of it's revolution we unhooked the drive that pulls the sweep and the problem seemed to go away. My R62 doesn't have any type of cage sweep and seems to do fine

After I installed chanel helicals in my N6 I was able to remove my cage sweep. The sweep was constant trouble for me. I have to install some cover plates on the cage above the concave for wheat, in canola, lentils, and barley I can run without the covers. I run all forward bars also on the rotor.
