I bought a bourgault 40ft 8810 with 10 inch spacing, mrb's and a dual fan 3195 tank. The previous air seeder owner used a Jd 8650 which according to tractor data has hydraulic flow of 32g.p.m. I'm now concerned if the Versatile 946 will have enough hydraulic flow at 25g.p.m. Any one have experience with these versatile's on a dual fan Bourgault?

I don't know what hydraulic requirement is need for dual fans, thinking you may have issues, google your air cart for hydraulic requirements, 25 gpm is in a perfect world, would flowrate remote remote to make sure its up to snuff, Scott.

depends on the hose routing. are they piggy backed off each other other? so the out port for fan 1 is hooked into fan 2 in port? then you would likely be fine. if they are being ran off of two separate remotes then there may become issues with enough hydraulics to life it while both fans are running...assuming you are near total capacity gpm. might also want to consider heat issues in the hydraulic fluid if there isn't a cooler

atom jet

So 2 946's just showed up on local dealers lot for service and both have atom jet kits mounted. I thought I read on combine forum you couldn't put atom jet kits on the 855 cummins? The salesman I talked to had been a mechanic for 15 years didn't think a 946 could run dual fans until I said a JD 8650 ran it. Then he said I should have hydraulic's flow tested maybe it would be fine.

I don't know about bourgault fans in particular but I run a 1900 jd cart with a single fan double shooting upwards of 300 lbs total product. I had troubles with hyd oil overheating and resulting lack of flow until I plumbed 1" lines to the scv block and ran high flow couplers. Seems to have solved my problems but I'm not putting more than 300 lbs down and I think my demand is thusly around 18gpm. The pump on those 946's are rated around 24gpm so as long as everything is up to snuff it can work as long as the oil doesn't get too hot and flow is free as possible.
