Hi All,

First time user here.

recently acquired a barn-stored John Deere 95. Seller (out of state) told me serial numbers are: Combine type: E0095. Serial no. 434356H. Engine type: M 61HA serial no. M61HA.

However, per March 1996 issue of "Green Magazine" that featured the 95 combine, serial numbers were only 5 digits - not 6 as seller noted.

I'd like to learn what and where all of the key serial and model numbers are located on the machine that I'll need now or later.

I'd like to start getting manuals for this unit and learning about it, but need model and serial numbers to start with.

I welcome your respective thoughts and advice of what items have key serial numbers, and where I can find those serial / model number plates on the machine, as well as any advice for me on this machine.

Thanks so much!

My father had one of those in the mid 60's. If I remember right the model and serial number are on the rear mounting plate of the fuel tank. That is on the back of the rear fuel tank mount. Our's was a gas model and the tank was on the right hand side near the back..
